This term we will continue to practise our big ball skills in soccer, basketball and netball. We will also look at badminton and table tennis. We will also be training for the cross country (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). Week 1 we enjoyed learning and playing table tennis and badminton. Have a look at the photos below. We will continue to develop our skills in this area also :)

Term 2
On Friday we enjoyed a sports morning with our VLC (vertical learning community). The students were all mixed up, different ages and abilities. Each group rotated around a variety of sports and learnt and practised some new skills. The sports were hockey, basketball, netball, dodgeball and soccer. It was an awesome way to spend a Friday morning and the students all loved it!

For the past 2 weeks L5 have been enjoying practising and learning new basketball skills. Last week we were lucky to have Kevin come and teach us new skills and games that we can now practise at home or at lunchtime.  Check out the photos below:

This term we are focussing on striking, catching and throwing. We are spending the first 3-4 weeks this term learning new skills. Our first week of term we were out in the sunshine practising our catching and throwing and striking skills with small and big balls. We def have some super soccer stars in L5!

This term L5 alongside L4 have been focussing on bike skills and safety and swimming.  L5 students have grown in confidence and we love going out and practising our skills on the bike track. We have practised braking, scootering, riding slow, control whilst riding, hand signals and riding with confidence. It's been awesome to watch and be a part of.

To end our bike programme L5 decided to organise and host a duathlon for L4 and L5. The students were part of various teams.  These teams included:
1. Design team - their job was to design the certificates (1st, 2nd, 3rd and participation)
2. Safety team - their job was to make sure our duathlon area was safe, checking and looking out for obstacles that may be unsafe
3. Operations team - their job was to design where the course was going to be set and how far the bike and run were going to be. This included the start area, finish area and transition area
4. Resource team - their job was to think of the resources we would need and who and how we would get these resources. This involved asking the right people!

Overall it was such a great experience and all students participated whether it was individually or in a team. Thanks L5 you were awesome at organising this.  Check out the photos below.
